Department Overview
The Department of Mathematics at Brindaban Government College, Habiganj, is recognized as one of its most prestigious academic divisions. The B.Sc. (Honors) program was introduced in the 2009–10 academic session under the National University, followed by the Master’s program in 2017–18 under the guidance of former Principal Prof. Md. Elias Hossain (Rtd). Currently, the department offers 135 seats at the undergraduate level and 50 at the postgraduate level. The curriculum covers key topics such as Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Topology, Differential Equations, Tensor Analysis, and Operational Research. With one Associate Professor, one Assistant Professor, and two Lecturers, the department emphasizes both quality teaching and research. It houses a modern computer lab with 26 computers and a multimedia projector, and a well-stocked seminar library. Annual study tours and strong academic achievements define its vibrant culture.
